The Alfa Romeo 4C is being packaged up for shipment to the United States. However, some of us are still not completely convinced of why we should care. The 4C will feature a stout 1.7-liter turbo engine with 240 horsepower and 260 lb-ft or torque. This power will be controlled via a snappy 6-speed dual clutch transmission which will also be enhanced via a very light and nimble chassis.
So in other words, its performance should actually be quite brilliant. However, there are a few other problems we can see with it.
The 4C has been bestowed with a cocky build number of only 2500 per year, and an even cockier price tag of $86,000 for a car that is relatively simple. And such a low build number also means that very few of us will ever have the opportunity to own one.
But then again, simple can be a good thing, especially when every part of a car works as it is supposed to. And I suppose the 4C will standout quite prominently in a world that already has too many BMW M3’s and Mercedes-Benz SL350’s. So, really… one could see the 4C as a bargain.
Okay, so we do care.
